Figma Weave brings generation into the file where design work already happens. Instead of producing a flat picture of an interface, it produces editable Figma layers — frames, auto-layout, components and text you can immediately restructure. Prompting from an existing design system means output that inherits your tokens rather than inventing a new visual language.

Where it pulls ahead

Zero handoff. There is no export-import gap between the generated idea and the working file, so exploration stays in the same place as production. For rapid concepting, filling out empty states, or spinning up a dozen layout variants before a review, it removes the most tedious part of the job.

Honest trade-offs

It is only as good as the system you point it at — thin or inconsistent libraries produce thin, inconsistent output. Generated structure often needs cleanup before it is genuinely production-ready, and it is far stronger at layout than at original visual identity. It is also useless outside Figma, so it never becomes your general AI tool.
