Does Pro lock anything behind a paywall that used to be free?
No. Pro only applies to the Agent Builder, and only adds things that never existed before. The guide, ethics hub, status pages, prompt tools, glossary and Ask Tickd are free and independent, as they always were.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, then drop back to Free — your saved agents stay put.
What is the starter code, exactly?
A small Node script and a Python script per platform, wired to that platform's own API with your agent's system prompt already in place. Install one package, set one key, run it. Not a paste-into-chat prompt — actual code.
