Figma Weave Blank Screen: How to Fix Not Loading

Updated 10/2/2026

If you are attempting to open Figma Weave and are met with a completely blank screen, an empty panel, or a frozen interface, you are not alone. When Weave fails to render assets or process inputs, the culprit is usually a browser rendering error, cached UI assets, or a temporary service outage.

Follow these sequential troubleshooting steps to get Figma Weave rendering properly again.

1. Verify Figma's Service Status Before modifying your browser settings or deleting local files, rule out an active outage on Figma's servers.

  1. Open a browser window and navigate to status.figma.com.
  2. Look under the Figma Design and Figma AI / Weave Integration headings.
  3. Check for recent incident logs indicating a partial outage, degraded performance, or 500/503 server errors.

If the status page indicates an ongoing incident, the blank screen is a server-side problem. You must wait for Figma's engineering team to deploy a fix.

2. Hard Refresh and Clear Site Storage Browsers often cache older versions of the Weave interface. When Figma pushes an update, a conflict between your browser's cached code and the live server code can cause Weave to fail to render, resulting in a blank UI.

For Web Browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox): * **Windows:** Press `Ctrl` + `F5` (or `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `R`). * **Mac:** Press `Cmd` + `Shift` + `R`.

If a hard refresh does not work, manually clear the site data: 1. Click the lock icon next to the URL in your browser's address bar. 2. Select Site settings or Cookies and site data. 3. Click Clear data or Manage on-device site data and delete files stored for figma.com. 4. Reload the page and log back in.

For the Figma Desktop App: If you are using the dedicated desktop app, you must clear the app's internal cache: * **macOS:** Click **Figma** in the top menu bar, navigate to **Preferences**, and select **Clear Cache and Restart**. * **Windows:** Click the Figma menu icon in the top-left corner, go to **Help** > **Clear Cache and Restart**.

3. Enable WebGL and Hardware Acceleration Figma Weave relies heavily on WebGL to render interactive components and generated vector shapes. If your browser's hardware acceleration is disabled, Weave cannot load, resulting in a blank workspace.

  1. In Google Chrome, paste chrome://settings/system into your address bar and press Enter.
  2. Locate the setting labeled Use graphics acceleration when available.
  3. Toggle this setting ON.
  4. Relaunch your browser.
  5. To verify your system's capability, visit webglreport.com. If WebGL 2 is marked as disabled or unsupported, you may need to update your computer's graphics card drivers.

4. Test in Incognito Mode to Identify Extension Conflicts Ad-blockers, script-blockers, and certain privacy-focused extensions can mistake Weave's backend calls for tracking scripts and block them, rendering a blank screen.

  1. Open a new Incognito or Private Browsing window.
  2. Navigate to Figma and log into your account.
  3. Open your project and launch Weave.

If Weave loads perfectly in Incognito, an extension in your main profile is blocking the connection. Disable your extensions one by one—starting with ad-blockers like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger—until you locate the one causing the conflict. Add figma.com to that extension's whitelist.

5. Check Network and Proxy Restraints If you are working on a corporate network or utilizing a VPN, secure gateways may block the secure WebSocket connections and API domains required for Figma Weave.

  1. Disconnect temporarily from your corporate VPN or proxy server.
  2. Connect your device to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot.
  3. Try reloading Weave. If it works, ask your IT administrator to whitelist the following domains:
  4. *.figma.com
  5. *.figma.com/api/
  6. WebSockets over port 443

When to Escalate If you have completed all the steps above and still see a blank screen, the issue may be account-specific.

Before contacting support, open your browser's developer console (press F12 or Cmd + Option + I and select the Console tab). Take a screenshot of any red error lines (especially 500, 502, or ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED errors). Head to Figma's official Help Center and submit a ticket, attaching your console logs to speed up your support resolution.
