Figma Weave Refund: How to Get Your Money Back
Updated 10/9/2026
If you have been charged unexpectedly for Figma Weave—whether due to an automated renewal, an accidental upgrade, or inactive user seats that were billed automatically—you can request a refund. Because Figma Weave is billed as part of your Figma workspace or account subscription, refunds must be processed through official channels within a specific time window.
This guide explains how to check your refund eligibility, stop ongoing charges, and submit a successful refund claim.
*Note: We are an independent help resource. We are not affiliated with Figma, and only Figma’s billing support team can process and approve your refund.*
---
1. Verify Your Refund Eligibility Figma’s refund policy is strict, but they do accommodate exceptions depending on your location, billing cycle, and how quickly you act after the charge occurs.
- Monthly Subscriptions: Generally, Figma does not offer prorated refunds for monthly subscriptions unless required by local law (such as for residents of the EU, UK, or Quebec, who have a 14-day cooling-off period).
- Annual Subscriptions: If you were charged for an annual renewal and did not intend to renew, Figma support typically reviews refund requests submitted within 14 days of the billing date, provided the seats or features have not been actively used since the renewal.
- Accidental Added Seats: If a team member accidentally accepted an invitation that triggered an automatic seat charge for Figma Weave, you may request a refund if you downgrade the seat and contact support within 30 days of the invoice date.
2. Cancel Your Figma Weave Subscription First Before you file a refund request, you must cancel or downgrade the subscription or seats to prevent further automated charges on the next billing cycle.
- Log in to your Figma account via a web browser.
- Navigate to your file browser and click on your Admin Console or Team Settings in the left sidebar.
- Click on the Settings or Members tab to check which seats are assigned to the Figma Weave premium plan.
- Click the Billing tab.
- Select Change Plan or Manage Subscription.
- Downgrade your Weave plan back to the free tier or reduce the total number of paid seats to your target number. Confirm the changes.
*Note: Downgrading stops future recurring invoices but does not automatically return funds for the invoice already paid. You must complete the next steps to get your money back.*
3. Remove Accidental Paid Users (For Seat Overcharges) If your refund request is due to extra seat charges, you must revoke those licenses before support can credit your account.
- From your Team Settings, go to the Members tab.
- Locate the users who were accidentally upgraded to a paid Figma Weave seat.
- Change their permission dropdown from Paid (or Editor) to Viewer or Viewer-restricted.
- Confirm that your billable seat count in the Billing tab has dropped. Note down the exact email addresses of the users you downgraded to include in your support ticket.
4. Submit Your Refund Ticket to Figma Support Since there is no automatic "Refund" button in the billing panel, you must file a manual ticket. Use these exact steps to ensure your request is routed correctly:
- Go to the official [Figma Support Contact Form](https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new).
- Under "How can we help?", select Billing and subscriptions from the dropdown menu.
- Choose your billing issue: Select Request a refund or Question about an invoice.
- Provide the following details in your ticket description to speed up processing:
- The email address associated with the Figma admin or billing owner account.
- The Invoice ID (found in your email receipt or under the Billing tab in your admin console).
- The exact date of the charge and the amount billed.
- A brief, clear explanation (e.g., "Accidental annual renewal, requested cancellation within 48 hours of charge" or "Accidental seat upgrade for user [email], downgraded immediately").
- Submit the ticket and keep a copy of your ticket confirmation number.
When to Escalate If you do not receive an automated ticket confirmation within an hour, check your email's spam folder. If you reside in the EU, UK, or Canada and are within the 14-day statutory cancellation period, clearly state "Statutory Cooling-Off Refund Request" in your ticket subject line to escalate your case.
Avoid filing a chargeback with your bank or credit card company while waiting for a response. Filing a chargeback forces financial institutions to flag the merchant account, which often leads to Figma automatically suspending or permanently banning your entire workspace, resulting in the loss of access to your designs.
