Fix Figma Weave Login Not Working & Sign-In Errors
Updated 9/24/2026
When you are locked out of your Figma Weave collaborative workspace, it halts your entire design pipeline. Authentication failures typically stem from expired browser-side session tokens, misconfigured Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) Single Sign-On (SSO) redirects, or local storage conflicts within your browser.
Because Figma Weave relies on real-time web socket connections and persistent authorization tokens to synchronize your canvas state, even a minor credential mismatch will block you at the login screen. Use this systematic troubleshooting guide to diagnose and resolve your Figma Weave login issues.
Step 1: Clear Local Storage and Session Storage
Traditional browser cache clearing often misses the specific localized database records that Figma Weave uses to store user session payloads. If these payloads become corrupted, your login attempts will repeatedly fail or time out.
- Open your web browser and navigate to the Figma login page.
- Open your browser's Developer Tools by pressing F12 (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Option + I (macOS).
- Go to the Application tab (Chrome/Edge) or Storage tab (Firefox).
- In the left-hand sidebar, expand Local Storage and select https://www.figma.com (or your dedicated enterprise domain).
- Click Clear All or manually delete keys containing active_session, user_token, or weave_state.
- Expand Session Storage in the sidebar and repeat the clearing process.
- Force-refresh the page by pressing Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (macOS) and attempt to sign in again.
Step 2: Resolve SAML SSO Redirect Loops
If your organization uses an Identity Provider (IdP) like Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), or Google Workspace to manage Figma access, mismatched SAML assertions can trap your browser in an endless login loop.
- Close all active Figma browser tabs.
- Log directly into your company's Identity Provider portal (e.g., your corporate Okta home screen).
- Find the Figma or Figma Weave application icon within your IdP dashboard and click it to initiate an IdP-initiated login sequence.
- If this fails, contact your internal IT administrator to verify if your seat license in the Figma Weave tenant was recently deprovisioned or if the SAML signing certificate has expired.
- If you are an admin, check your IdP log for error codes. Common errors like status:Responder indicate that Figma was unable to validate the assertion signature.
Step 3: Fix Password Reset Link Failures
If you are using a standard email and password login and the password reset flow is failing, the token in the email may be expiring prematurely or getting stripped by security firewalls.
- Request a new password reset link from the login page, but do not click it multiple times. Each request invalidates the previous link.
- Check your spam, quarantine, or corporate email security gateway (such as Mimecast or Proofpoint). Security tools often pre-click links to scan them for malware, which instantly invalidates the one-time-use password token.
- If your security system pre-clicks links, copy the raw URL from the plain-text version of the email and paste it directly into an Incognito/Private browsing window.
Step 4: Adjust Third-Party Cookie and Ad-Blocker Rules
Figma Weave integrates multiple subdomains and external authentication handlers. Aggressive privacy extensions or browser configurations can block essential cross-domain storage mechanisms.
- Check your browser's address bar for an blocked-cookie icon (usually a shield or eye icon in Brave, Safari, or Chrome).
- Add [*.]figma.com to your browser's allowed list for third-party cookies.
- Temporarily disable browser extensions like uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, or Ghostery to rule out script blocking.
- Ensure your browser is not set to "Block all third-party cookies" in its privacy settings.
When to Escalate
If you have cleared local storage, bypassed your identity provider, and verified that browser extensions are not interfering, but you still encounter error screens (such as 401 Unauthorized or 403 Forbidden messages), the issue likely lies on the server side.
Contact your team's workspace administrator to confirm your account status. If you are the administrator, gather your browser's console log exports (saved as a .log or .har file during a failed login attempt) and open a ticket with Figma Support through their official customer portal. Note that as an independent helper site, we cannot modify your workspace licenses or reset credentials for you.
