Figma Weave password reset not working: Quick Fixes
Updated 10/3/2026
If you are locked out of Figma Weave because you are not receiving the password recovery email, or the reset link throws an error, you are not alone. Because Figma Weave relies directly on your primary Figma account credentials, any password recovery failure completely blocks access to your AI design workflows.
This practical guide covers how to locate hidden recovery emails, resolve Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication conflicts, and successfully reset your credentials.
1. Verify if Your Account Uses SSO (Single Sign-On) The most common reason for not receiving a password reset email is that your Figma account does not actually use a password. If you originally registered using "Continue with Google" or your company's identity provider (like Okta, Azure AD, or SAML), Figma's system will silently ignore manual password reset requests to prevent unauthorized account access.
To check and resolve this: 1. Open an incognito or private browsing window. 2. Navigate to the Figma login page. 3. Click Continue with Google or enter your corporate email to use your organization's SAML SSO portal. 4. If you successfully log in this way, you do not have a separate Figma password. You must continue using your third-party provider to access Figma Weave. 5. If you want to set a dedicated password, you must do so from your Account Settings page while logged in, rather than using the logged-out password reset tool.
2. Check for Mail Server Quarantine and Spam Filters If you are certain you registered with an email and password combination, the recovery message may be blocked by your mail server or local inbox rules.
- Search your spam, junk, and "Promotions" folders for messages from noreply@figma.com or support@figma.com.
- If you are on a corporate network, contact your IT administrator. Enterprise email filters (such as Mimecast, Barracuda, or Microsoft Defender) frequently flag automated password reset emails as bulk spam and hold them in a server-wide quarantine.
3. Whitelist Figma's Email Delivery Domains To ensure your mail server does not silently drop incoming recovery requests, add Figma's delivery domains to your email account's safe senders list.
- Open your email client settings (Outlook, Gmail, or Apple Mail).
- Add the following domains to your whitelist or trusted contacts:
- figma.com
- mail.figma.com
- After saving these changes, wait 5 minutes before attempting to request another password reset link to allow your mail client settings to update.
4. Clear Browser Cookies and Local Cache Sometimes, your browser displays a successful "Email Sent" message, but local browser caching or cookie corruptions prevent the form from actually sending the request to Figma's API.
- Clear your browser's cookies and site data for figma.com.
- Alternatively, open a completely different web browser (such as switching from Chrome to Safari or Firefox).
- Go directly to figma.com/password/reset.
- Enter your email address and click Send Reset Link once.
5. Prevent Rate-Limit Security Blocks Figma limits the number of password reset emails that can be requested in a short timeframe to prevent brute-force attacks. If you clicked the reset button multiple times, you may have triggered a temporary rate-limit hold.
- Close all Figma browser tabs.
- Wait exactly 15 minutes without requesting another email.
- Go back to the password recovery page and submit the form only once.
- If you eventually receive multiple reset emails, click only the link in the most recent email. Any earlier recovery links are automatically invalidated the moment a newer request is processed.
