Is Figma Weave Down? Status and Outage Troubleshooting
Updated 10/9/2026
When Figma Weave stops responding, gets stuck during initialization, or fails to load completely, it can disrupt your entire design workflow. Because Figma Weave relies on real-time cloud infrastructure, failures usually point to either a global service outage or local connection blocking.
Follow these steps to diagnose where the connection is failing and restore access to the tool.
1. Verify Figma's global status Before modifying your local system settings, check if Figma Weave is experiencing a widespread outage.
- Check the Status Page: Visit the official Figma Status page (status.figma.com). Look specifically for incidents related to plugins, developer platform tools, or core editor services.
- Check Third-Party Monitors: If the official status page hasn't updated yet, search platform monitoring sites like Downdetector or social media channels (such as @FigmaStatus on X) to see if other designers are reporting similar outages.
If a global outage is active, the problem is on Figma's servers. You must wait for their engineering team to deploy a fix.
2. Force-refresh your browser or desktop app Sometimes, a local session becomes corrupted, preventing the Weave interface from communicating with Figma's cloud servers. A simple restart won't clear this; you must perform a hard refresh.
If you are using Figma in a web browser: * **Chrome / Edge / Brave (Windows):** Press `Ctrl` + `F5` or `Ctrl` + `Shift` + `R`. * **Chrome / Firefox (Mac):** Press `Cmd` + `Shift` + `R`. * **Safari (Mac):** Press `Option` + `Cmd` + `E` to empty the cache, then `Cmd` + `R` to reload the page.
If you are using the Figma Desktop App: 1. Open the Figma desktop menu in the top-left corner. 2. Navigate to **Help** > **Troubleshooting**. 3. Click **Clear Cache and Restart** (or **Force Reload** if you want to try reloading without losing saved local configurations first).
3. Clear deep local cache files Persistent local data can sometimes trap Figma Weave in an infinite loading loop. If the standard in-app cache clear doesn't work, manually delete the local application data directory.
On macOS: 1. Close the Figma desktop app entirely. 2. Open Finder, press `Cmd` + `Shift` + `G`, and paste the following path: `~/Library/Application Support/Figma/` 3. Locate the `Cache`, `GPUCache`, and `Local Storage` folders. 4. Move these folders to the Trash, empty the Trash, and relaunch Figma.
On Windows: 1. Close the Figma app. 2. Press the `Windows Key` + `R` to open the Run dialog box. 3. Type `%APPDATA%\Figma` and press Enter. 4. Delete the `Cache`, `GPUCache`, and `IndexedDB` directories. 5. Restart Figma and attempt to launch Weave.
4. Check for network blocks and API restrictions If Figma is operational but Weave specifically refuses to load, your network, firewall, or DNS configuration may be blocking the endpoints that Weave uses to stream design system data.
- Switch Networks: Temporarily disconnect from your corporate network or VPN and connect to a mobile hotspot. If Weave loads instantly, your network security configuration is blocking the tool.
- Check Browser Console Errors: Press F12 (or Cmd + Option + I on Mac) to open the Developer Tools. Go to the Console tab and look for red error messages. If you see repeated 403 Forbidden, 502 Bad Gateway, or ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED errors targeting Figma API subdomains, your local network or proxy is blocking necessary WebSocket or HTTPS traffic.
- Disable Extensions: Ad-blockers, tracking blockers, and script-disabling browser extensions can mistakenly flag Weave's operations. Temporarily disable these extensions or add Figma to your browser's whitelist.
