Claude Login Email Link Not Arriving: How to Fix
Updated 9/6/2026
Claude uses a passwordless login system that relies on sending a "magic link" or a temporary login verification code to your email inbox. If you are trying to log in and the verification email is not arriving, it can completely lock you out of your account. Follow this guide to resolve mail delivery blocks and restore access to Claude.
Step 1: Search your inbox systematically
Email providers often route transactional verification emails to alternative tabs or folders to keep the main inbox clean. Before changing any settings, search your mail provider thoroughly:
- Look in your Spam, Junk, Promotions, and Social folders.
- Use your email provider's search bar to search for emails from anthropic.com or containing the phrase "Claude login".
- Check if you have any aggressive inbox filters set up that automatically archive or delete incoming mail from unknown senders.
Step 2: Prevent email address formatting issues
Even minor discrepancies in how you type your email address can prevent the magic link from reaching you, even if the Claude website says the email was sent successfully.
- Check for trailing spaces: When copy-pasting your email address into the Claude sign-in field, ensure you didn't accidentally include an empty space at the very beginning or end of the text. This is a common mobile autofill bug.
- Avoid email aliases: If you signed up with a sub-address or alias (e.g., user+claude@gmail.com), make sure you are checking the main inbox associated with that address, and that your email client supports receiving mail to aliases without blocking them.
- Character case sensitivity: While email addresses are generally case-insensitive, some mail servers treat them strictly. Ensure you are typing your email address in all lowercase letters.
Step 3: Whitelist Anthropic's email domains
If your email provider uses aggressive spam filtering or security firewalls (especially common with corporate, school, or custom domain emails), the incoming server might be silently dropping Anthropic’s emails before they even reach your junk folder.
- Access your email settings or contact your network administrator.
- Add the following sending domains to your "Safe Senders" list, address book, or whitelist:
- *@anthropic.com
- *@mail.anthropic.com
- If your email client allows whitelisting by IP address, check Anthropic’s support docs for their active mail delivery IP ranges, or simply add noreply@anthropic.com directly to your personal contact list.
Step 4: Clear browser conflicts or try SSO
Local browser data or active privacy extensions can sometimes disrupt the script that triggers the login email request.
- Open an Incognito or Private Browsing window in your web browser.
- Navigate to claude.ai and attempt to sign in again.
- If you originally signed up for Claude using your Google account, do not type your email in the text box. Instead, click the Continue with Google button. If you try to log in using the standard email link when your account is linked to Google SSO, the login flow can occasionally fail or become unresponsive.
When to escalate
If you have tried all of the above steps and still cannot receive the verification emails, there may be an active IP block or server-side mail delivery outage affecting Anthropic’s email provider. Check the official status page at status.anthropic.com to see if there is a reported outage under "Sign-in services" or "Email delivery". If the status page is green, you must contact Anthropic support from a different, working email address, or open a ticket through support.anthropic.com to check if your email address was added to a global bounce list.
