Midjourney Login Loop: How to Fix Authentication Issues

Updated 10/15/2026

Getting stuck in a continuous login loop when trying to access the Midjourney website is a common issue. Typically, you click "Sign In," authorize the connection via Discord, and are redirected right back to the unauthenticated landing page. This issue is almost always caused by cached credential conflicts, outdated Discord OAuth tokens, or aggressive browser security settings blocking cross-domain redirection.

Use the following step-by-step troubleshooting guide to break the authentication loop and regain access to your Midjourney account, gallery, and billing portal.

1. Clear Site Data for Midjourney and Discord

When Midjourney updates its web interface, cached data from your previous browser session can conflict with new authentication tokens. Clearing cookies and local storage specifically for both Midjourney and Discord resolves most loop scenarios.

On Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge: 1. Open `midjourney.com` in your browser. 2. Click the padlock or settings icon to the left of the URL in the address bar. 3. Select **Site settings** or **Cookies and site data**. 4. Click **Manage cookies and site data**, then click the trash can icon next to all listed files to remove them. 5. Navigate to `discord.com` and repeat this exact process. 6. Restart your browser and attempt to log in to Midjourney again.

On Apple Safari: 1. Go to **Safari** > **Settings** (or **Preferences**) > **Privacy**. 2. Click on **Manage Website Data**. 3. Type "midjourney" in the search bar, select it, and click **Remove**. 4. Type "discord" in the search bar, select it, and click **Remove**. 5. Click **Done**, restart Safari, and try logging in.

2. Revoke and Reauthorize Midjourney in Discord

If the underlying authentication handshake between Discord and Midjourney has corrupted, you must force a fresh OAuth connection. You can do this by revoking Midjourney's access inside your Discord account settings and then re-authorizing it.

  1. Open your Discord application (or go to discord.com in a browser tab) and log in.
  2. Click the gear icon (User Settings) next to your username at the bottom left.
  3. In the left-hand menu under *User Settings*, click on Authorized Apps.
  4. Scroll through your authorized applications to locate Midjourney (or Midjourney Bot).
  5. Click the Deauthorize button next to it.
  6. Close the Discord settings tab.
  7. Go back to midjourney.com/signin, click Sign In, and click Authorize when prompted. This creates a clean link between your accounts.

3. Match Browser and Discord App Sessions

If you use the Discord desktop application but log into Midjourney using a web browser, credentials can mismatch. This happens if your browser is logged into a different Discord account (e.g., an alternate account) than your desktop app.

  1. Open your default web browser and navigate to discord.com/app.
  2. Check which username is active in the bottom-left corner of the web interface.
  3. Open your Discord desktop app and verify if the username matches exactly.
  4. If they do not match, log out of the incorrect account in your browser.
  5. Log into the web browser version of Discord using the exact account tied to your Midjourney subscription, then attempt to sign in at midjourney.com.

4. Disable Content Blockers and Brave Shields

Privacy-focused browsers (such as Brave) and strict ad-blocking extensions (like uBlock Origin, AdBlock, or Ghostery) flag the redirect URL from Discord to Midjourney as a third-party tracker, blocking the login payload.

  1. Open your browser's extension manager and temporarily disable all ad-blockers, tracking blockers, and script-blocking extensions.
  2. If using Brave Browser, click the orange Lion icon (Brave Shields) at the right of the URL bar while on midjourney.com and toggle the shield Off.
  3. If using Firefox, click the shield icon to the left of the URL bar and toggle off Enhanced Tracking Protection for the site.
  4. Refresh the page and attempt to sign in.

5. Switch to Incognito Mode or an Alternate Browser

To isolate whether the issue is system-wide or isolated to your current browser profile, use private browsing.

  1. Open an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
  2. Go directly to midjourney.com and attempt to sign in.
  3. If this works, a browser extension, cookie, or local storage configuration in your main profile is blocking the OAuth handshake.
  4. If it fails, try using a completely different browser engine (e.g., if you primarily use Chrome, try Firefox or Safari) to determine if a system-level firewall or DNS setting is blocking the traffic.

When to Escalate

If you have cleared your browser data, confirmed that your browser and desktop Discord accounts match, and disabled all extensions but still cannot log in, the issue may be on Midjourney's side or a suspension block on your Discord account. Check the #status channel in the official Midjourney Discord server to see if authentication servers are down. If no outage is reported, contact billing and account support directly by emailing billing@midjourney.com with your Discord username, account ID, and a description of the login loop.
