Midjourney Plan Limit Reached: How to Resolve

Updated 10/16/2026

Hitting a limit in Midjourney can stop your creative workflow instantly. Usually, this happens when you exhaust your monthly allocation of Fast GPU hours, or when you exceed the concurrent queue limits allowed on your subscription tier. Here is how to diagnose your limit and resolve the issue step-by-step.

1. Check Your Real-Time Usage with /info Before attempting any billing changes, you must determine whether you have exhausted your subscription's Fast hours or if you are simply hitting a concurrent job queue limit. 1. Open Discord and navigate to the Midjourney bot direct message or your dedicated server. 2. Type `/info` in the chat box and press Enter. 3. Look at the output card generated by the bot. Take note of the following lines: - **Subscription**: Your current tier (Basic, Standard, Pro, or Mega). - **Fast GPU Time Remaining**: This shows how much high-speed generation time you have left (e.g., `0.00/15.0 hours`). - **Queued Jobs (Fast/Relax)**: Shows if you have pending jobs waiting to process.

If your Fast GPU Time Remaining is at 0.0, your account has reached its plan limit for high-speed image generation.

2. Switch to Relax Mode (Standard, Pro, and Mega Plans) If you are on the Standard ($30/mo), Pro ($60/mo), or Mega ($120/mo) plan, running out of Fast hours does not mean you have to stop generating. You have access to unlimited Relaxed generations, which process images at a lower priority. *Note: The Basic ($10/mo) plan does not include Relax mode.*

  1. In your Discord text input field, type /relax and press Enter.
  2. The Midjourney bot will reply with a confirmation message: "Your profile has been switched to Relax mode."
  3. Try generating an image using /imagine. The generation will take longer to start (usually 1 to 20 minutes depending on current server load), but it will not cost you any remaining Fast time.
  4. To switch back to Fast mode after buying more hours, type /fast and press Enter.

3. Purchase Extra Fast Hours If you are on the Basic plan (which lacks Relax mode) or cannot wait for Relax mode queue times, you can purchase additional Fast hours directly without waiting for your monthly billing cycle to reset. 1. Type `/buy` in your Discord chat and press Enter. 2. Click the unique, secure link generated by the bot. This will open your Midjourney account portal. 3. Select the option to "Buy More Fast Hours." 4. Choose the amount of hours you want to purchase. Midjourney sells extra Fast hours at a flat rate of $4 per hour. 5. Complete the checkout via the Stripe interface. The bought hours will be credited to your account instantly. You can confirm this by running `/info` in Discord again.

4. Upgrade Your Midjourney Subscription Plan If you consistently run out of hours mid-month, upgrading your plan tier is more cost-effective than repeatedly buying $4/hour top-ups. Upgrades are prorated, meaning you only pay the difference for the remainder of your billing cycle. 1. Navigate to [Midjourney.com/account](https://www.midjourney.com/account) or type `/subscribe` in Discord to obtain your personal account access link. 2. Log in using your connected Discord account if prompted. 3. Locate your active plan and select a higher-tier plan (e.g., upgrading from Basic to Standard, or Standard to Pro). 4. Choose "Upgrade Plan." 5. The checkout screen will show a prorated balance calculation based on how many days are left in your billing cycle and your unused hours. Confirm the payment. Your new plan limits and Fast hours will apply immediately.

5. Clear Stuck Concurrent Jobs Sometimes the "limit reached" error refers to active queue slots rather than billing hours. Midjourney limits how many jobs you can run at the exact same moment. - **Basic/Standard plans** limit you to 3 concurrent active jobs. - **Pro/Mega plans** limit you to 12 concurrent active Fast jobs.

If you see a "Queue limit reached" message: 1. Stop sending new /imagine prompts. 2. Wait for your current generations to complete processing. 3. If a job is stuck at 99% or "Waiting to start" indefinitely, locate the message in Discord and react to it with the red "X" emoji (❌) to cancel the job and clear the active queue slot.

When to Escalate If you have purchased extra hours or upgraded your subscription tier, but the `/info` command still displays 0 remaining hours after 15 minutes, there may be a processing delay between Stripe and Midjourney: 1. Take a screenshot of your billing invoice or receipt from your email. 2. Join the official [Midjourney Discord Server](https://discord.gg/midjourney). 3. Navigate to the `#member-support` channel. 4. Explain that your payment went through but your account limits did not update. System administrators or support guides can manually trigger a profile sync. 5. Alternatively, send your account details and billing receipt to `billing@midjourney.com` for account-level troubleshooting.
